Bernie Holdsworth

bholdsBernie grew up in Oatley and was student at Penshurst Marist. On leaving Penshurst in 1966 he began a career with the Commonwealth Bank that would eventually see him working in Head Office doing Project Management.

In 1998 Bernie was employed as Business Manager at Marist Kogarah. This was the first time that a Catholic Education Office School had a Business Manager. Again this shows how Marist Kogarah has been at the forefront of developments in Catholic Education.

This new role allowed the College Principal to be relieved of the burden of financial management and allowed the Principal to refocus on providing an educational vision for the school. Over the nine years that Bernie was at the school he contributed greatly to its development. Our current centenary celebrations owe much to Bernie's commitment to the preservation of our school history by helping provide finance for the further development of our College Archives.

Bernie retired in 2007. He is presently President of the Hustville Catholic Club (Club Central).

On 6th May 2009 he returned to take part in a Centenary Interview. This can be seen on the Centenary YouTube Channel by clicking on this link.
