Centenary Mass

smcnOn 22nd May, 2009 the College Centenary Mass was held at St. Mary's Cathedral in Sydney.

The mass was celebrated by Cardinal George Pell.

In his homily Cardinal Pell paid tribute to the work of the various religious orders in the establishment of Catholic Schools, in particular the work of the Marist Brothers.

The Cardinal reminded the congregation that for many years Catholic Schools operated without government funding.

Recognition was also given to the lay staff who have continued the traditions founded by the Marist Brothers.

Another highlight of the mass was the Offertory Procession which involved former and current students. The oldest of these being Mr. Martin Iffland (Class of 1937) and the youngest being Year 7 student Phillip Bonacci. Also taking part were; Terry Morris (Class of 1977), Ryan Morris (Yr 11, 2009), Peter Maude (Class of 1955), Francis Cameron and George Kikilas (Class of 2009).
