Mr. Ken Boothroyd

Ken Boothroyd arrived at the College in 1969 and remained for over 25 years.

Ken was inspirational in encouraging students to aspire to physical fitness. Many of our famous former students who have visited the school as part of our centenary celebrations have stated that Ken was the teacher who most inspired them while they were at school.

On 16th of April 16 members of our current staff who either worked with Ken or in some cases were students in his class went to visit Ken who has now retired to the South Coast.

In addition to working at Marist Kogarah, Ken was well known for his work with the St. George Rugby League Team.

As part of this visit Ken was interviewed for our collection of centenary interviews. The full interview is available on the YouTube Centenary Channel (click here). The segment of the interview below shows Ken's sense of humour, something that he was well know for during his time at the College.
