Br. Placidus Redden

pr

Our Library is named after Br. Placidus Redden who was College Principal from 1941 to 1945.

Being war years these were difficult times for both the boys and their families.

Br. Placidus showed remarkable leadership and with the support of the Parish Priests of the time undertook extensive additions to the school. During his time the student population rose from 600 to over 860. The school excelled academically in these years.

Br. Placidus died in 1974 aged 77. It is fitting that our library, originally opened in 1977, is named in his honour and memory.
